On Tuesday, Israeli warplanes hammered the Gaza strip with airstrikes, hitting dozens of targets. The frequency and intensity of the bombardments were even fiercer than on Monday.
Health authorities in the Gaza Strip recorded an additional 100 deaths and about 300 injuries, mainly civilians, Tuesday night. The entire Gaza strip is under siege by more than 100,000 troops and hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles, and self-propelled guns of the Israeli army.
In a statement, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that Israel’s army will launch a comprehensive attack to make sure Hamas never recovers.
In retaliation, the al-Qassam Brigade, the armed wing of Hamas, launched many new rounds of rocket fire at cities and towns deep within Israeli territory, and dozens of Hamas gunmen continued to infiltrate Israeli territory.
At Israel's border with southern Lebanon, Israeli helicopters launched multiple missile attacks on Hezbollah surveillance points. Hezbollah said they destroyed an Israeli armored vehicle with two guided missiles.
