Addressing the meeting on Thursday, President Phuc, who is Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council  and Head of the Steering Committee, emphasized the significance of the Party Congress’ resolution on national defense strategy issued 10 years ago and the necessity to review its implementation in the context of international integration and national development.

He hailed the all-out effort to generate positive results in ensuring national unity, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, socialism protection, social law and order security as well as a peaceful and stable environment for growth.

The Party leader highlighted the absolute leadership of the Party and the State centralized management of the armed forces towards modernization to better meet requirements in the new context.
