(VOVworld) – Armed terrorists attacked an airport's radar system in Pakistan's Balochistan province early Sunday and killed an aviation engineer, officials said. Official sources said electronic supervisor Khalidullah was killed in the pre-dawn attack and another officer, Altaf Hussain, was injured. The attackers kidnapped the manager of the airport. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the authorities blame anti-government Baloch insurgents. Officials said the Jiwani airport in Gwadar district has not been functional for years. Constant violence has been raging in Balochistan since 2004, killing hundreds of people, as anti-government forces fight for political autonomy and bigger shares of profit in this region, which is rich in mineral resources, oil, and gas.
