Tet gifts on their way to soldiers and staff on DK1
(VOVWORLD) - The Brigade 167 of Naval Zone 2 Command in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau are busy these days loading Tet gifts onboard for soldiers and staff on DK1 platform in Vung Tau-Con Dao Special Zone ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Gifts include peach trees, Kumquat trees, square sticky rice cakes, and dong leaves, among others. Captain Le Duy Suu, DK1 Batallion’s deputy political commissar, told VOV: "We have received many Tet gifts sent by individuals, businesses and organizations across the country to soldiers and staff of DK1. Tet food packaging has also been completed. This year we’ve received many encouraging letters from pupils and students who send their regards and best wishes to soldiers stationed on the DK1 platform. This is a valuable source of encouragement for the soldiers which also show their patriotism and love for their motherland."
Vessels carrying Tet gifts are on their way to reach soldiers and staff on islands and offshore platforms ahead of the 2020 lunar New Year or Tet.
