Thai Civil Court to decide on state of emergency
(VOVworld) – Thailand’s Civil Court is scheduled to announce its decision as to whether to remove or not the state of emergency in Bangkok and adjacent provinces on February 19. Previously, the leader of the People's Democratic Reform Committee, Thaworn Senneam, submitted a claim to the Civil Court to halt the law. The Thai government imposed the state of emergency in the capital Bangkok and neighboring provinces within 60 days (starting from January 22nd) to restrain the oppositions “Occupy Bangkok” movement to force Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to resign. The political turmoil in Thailand has been going on for nearly 4 months, killing 11 people and injuring hundreds more.
