(VOVworld) – The Thai Election Commission (EC) has sent a proposal to postpone the election to the Thai Constitutional Court, said the Commission’s General Secretary Puchong Nutrawong on Tuesday.

The reason is that there are still 28 polling stations which do not meet the Commission’s requirements and there is a shortage of ballot-box supervisors. Nutrawong said the Commission will continue preparing for the election while the Constitutional Court considers the proposal.
This move by the EC comes after the Thai government declared a 60-day state of emergency beginning today in Bangkok and neighboring provinces.
