Thai Nguyen’s Long Tong festival recognized as national heritage
(VOVWORLD) -The Long Tong or “Going to the field” festival was held in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province, on Sunday, the 10th day of the first lunar month, to pray for favorable weather, bumper crops, and happiness.

The annual event began with an incense offering at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial house, and crop prayers by the Tay and San Chay ethnic groups. The highlights of the Long Tong festival are Tay puppetry and the Tich Dien (ploughing) ceremony to pray for good crops.
The Long Tong festival in Thai Nguyen province was recognized this year as a national intangible cultural heritage.
