Thai opposition plans mass weekend demonstrations
(VOVworld) – Anti-government demonstrators in Thailand said they will step up their protests in an attempt to force Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down and will push for electoral reforms before a general election is organized.

In a statement on Tuesday, former Deputy Premier and protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban called for marches in central Bangkok on Thursday and Friday followed by large-scale demonstrations on Sunday despite the number of protestors camping on the streets of the capital dwindling to 2,000 last week.
