Thai Prime Minister dismissed
(VOVworld) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was dismissed by a ruling of the Constitutional Court on Wednesday over the improper transfer of Secretary General of the National Security Council Thawil Pliensri.
The ruling said that Ms. Yingluck was not partial and sought personal interests while conducting the transfer. The ruling took effect immediately and there would be no appeal. A number of cabinet members appointed at the time of the transfer in September 2011 were also dismissed. Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Trade Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan has been appointed caretaker Prime Minister to run the government and together with the National Elections Committee will hold a new general election on July 20
th. Boonsongpaisan used to run the Shin Group, which belonged to the Shinawatra family.
