Thai Xoe dancing and Cham pottery making seek UNESCO recognition
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on behalf of the Vietnamese government, has applied for UNESCO recognition of the Xoe dancing of Thai ethnic people and the pottery making of Cham ethnic people as an intangible heritage of humanity and an intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of safeguarding.

The Prime Minister asked the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work with UNESCO Vietnam to submit completed dossiers to UNESCO by March 31 this year.
Xoe dance has been recognized as a national intangible heritage. Cham pottery plays an important role in the Cham economy, culture, and daily life.
