At a joint press conference after a meeting at the White House, President Obama said the US will remain side by side with France in the fight against terrorism and will protect its allies. The two leaders say they will step up military operations against IS in Syria and Iraq. They agreed on the importance of closing the Turkish border to prevent movement of extremists into Europe. Hollande said France will not send ground troops to Syria.
