(VOVWORLD) - The Hue Imperial City welcomed 70,000 tourists during and after the Lunar New Year holiday (February 1-6), a sharp increase from last year and a promising sign that tourism is recovering.
Now that the province has adopted a strategy of safe, flexible adaptation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the local tourism sector has resumed promoting Vietnam’s former capital to potential tourists in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and the Central Highlands region.
“This year, Thua Thien-Hue will mobilize resources and support tourism businesses in building demand-stimulating activities, with new tourism products, festivals, and events featuring local people, cuisine, and culture,” said Deputy Director of Thua Thien-Hue’s Department of Tourism Nguyen Van Phuc.
This year, for the first time, Thua Thien-Hue will host the Four Seasons Festival, with many cultural events and artistic performances scheduled to take place throughout the year.
