Last Thursday, Cabinet Office Minister Oliver Dowden told Parliament to ban the app on government devices, following a similar move in the US and other countries.
In the past few weeks, the European Union, Belgium, and Canada have all banned the use of TikTok on government devices.
TikTok, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, has more than 1 billion users worldwide.
