(VOVWORLD) - It is time for ASEAN and India to elevate their strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation to a new height, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said at the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi on Thursday.

Minister Son highlighted the long-standing traditional relationship between India and Southeast Asia and its strong development.
He suggested ASEAN and India join hands and make positive contributions to peace, stability, and development in the region, build the East Sea into a sea of peace, stability, cooperation, and environmental friendliness.
Minister Son said the two sides need to work out specific targets for trade growth, investment, tourism, cultural cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
He affirmed that Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the world community, and that Vietnam will work closely with ASEAN and India to further boost their strategic partnership.
