500 business registered for the 8th edition organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 25% participating for the first time.

Pham Tan Cong, VCCI President and Head of the Steering Committee of the program, said the stability and sustainable growth in production and business activities of the honored enterprises demonstrates that they have applied sustainability criteria for environment, society, and governance (ESG) in their long-term business strategies.

Only commitment to a sustainable strategy will allow businesses to overcome difficulties and challenges to grow, prosper, and achieve lasting happiness, said Cong.

He insisted that the honored businesses are the vanguard of a difficult journey, a green journey, a journey of sustainable development to create happiness for society and for their employees.

“We hope there will soon be many new faces on that journey to build a sustainable business community in Vietnam. They will be the messengers telling the world that Vietnamese businesses are moving steadily toward equality, social justice, prosperity, and inclusion,” said Cong.

Addressing the event, Tran Tuan Anh, Head of the Central Economic Commission, praised VCCI’s initiative to organize the Program for Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam over the past 8 years.

He said Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs need to build a sustainable business culture, linking their success and long-term growth to sustainable benefits for the community, society, and the environment.
