Top leaders pay tribute to national contributors
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presented gifts to national revolutionary contributors and heroic Vietnamese mothers on Tuesday to mark 70 years of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27).

During his visit to a nursing center for national contributors in Hanoi, the Party leader highlighted the Party and State’s special attention and care for those who rendered great services to the nation.
Mr. Trong asked the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to implement more practical activities to pay tribute to war invalids, martyrs, and national contributors nationwide. 1.4 million national contributors and relatives of war martyrs and invalids receive monthly allowances.
At a meeting in Thanh Hoa province the same day to honor those who have rendered services to the nation, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said: “We need to ensure preferential treatment for revolutionary contributors. It’s necessary to raise awareness in the younger generation of their predecessors’ merits in national construction and defense”.
