(VOVworld) – The Kate festival of the ethnic Cham of Brahmin in the south central province of Ninh Thuan officially took place on Monday.

Kate festival officially takes place on October 12.

Brahmin dignitaries, authorities and crowds of Cham began the festival with the procession of Po Klong Garai, the costumes of the gods to the Po Klong Garai Tower, and prayed for good health and bumper crops. Kate is the largest festival in the year of the Cham community in Ninh Thuan. Falling on the first day of the 7th month of the Cham calendar, the festival features a wide range of traditional cultural and sports performances at temples and towers. 

A photo exhibition entitled “Convergence of Cham Colors”, the Kate offering decorations and singing contests were also organized to mark the occasion.
