President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO Simona-Mirela Miculescu attended the event.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the majestic natural landscape and join in various traditional rituals, with this year’s highlight being a dragon procession from Ninh Binh city to the Trang An wharf, and along the Sao Khe river.
The Trang An Festival is an annual event to commemorate Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong, a general under the reign of the 18th Hung King - one of Vietnam’s legendary founding fathers, and to honor the Tran Kings for their roles in national construction and defense.
It is also an important religious feature of the ancient capital Hoa Lu.
