Trump urges North Korean leader to finalize deal on nuclear program
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump urged North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Sunday to act quickly and reach a deal on dismantling the regime’s nuclear weapons program. He tweeted that he will see the North Korean leader soon.

Trump’s tweet came with denuclearization negotiations between the US and North Korea stalled. The two leaders’ second summit in February in Vietnam ended without a deal.
North Korea has sought sanctions relief and security guarantees in exchange for ending its nuclear program, but the US insists on seeing concrete and verifiable denuclearization steps first. North Korea has set an end-of-year deadline for the US to come up with an acceptable proposal.
The official Korean Central News Agency quoted the North Korean Foreign Ministry as saying the nuclear program will not be put on the table even if the negotiations resume, unless the US gives up its hostile policy.
