Tunisia lifts curfew on capital imposed after deadly bombing

(VOVworld) – Tunisia’s Interior Ministry officially lifted a curfew imposed in the capital and suburbs on Saturday after a deadly November bus bombing targeting Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.

The attack claimed by the Islamic State killed 12 presidential guards. According to a statement, the midnight to 5:00 am curfew ended at midnight on Saturday. After the attack the government declared a 30-day nationwide state of emergency and closed the border with Libya. Tunisian investigation agency said the attack was planned by Libyan terrorists. The border with Libya was reopened on Thursday night, but the state of emergency remains in place.
