Turkey not to surrender to the US: Erdogan
(VOVWORLD) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Turkey will not surrender to the US under the sanctions imposed by the US over the detention of an American pastor, accusing Washington of launching an “attempted economic coup” against Ankara.

He said some people are trying to threaten Turkey through the economy, through interest rates, foreign exchange, investment and inflation and that Turkey is challenging them. The Turkish leader told thousands of his supporters during the sixth Congress of the ruling AK Party (AKP) in Ankara on Saturday. He said Turkey did not and will not surrender to those who act like a strategic partner but make them a strategic target.
