Turkey, Russia to set up joint center to monitor Nagorno-Karabakh peace
(VOVWORLD) - Turkey and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday to set up a joint center to observe and inspect a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia after an online meeting between Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Shoigu.

The memorandum states the duties and principles of the joint center, which will monitor Russian peacekeepers sent to the conflict zone to stop the bloodshed and facilitate a return to peaceful life.
The Center, located on Azerbaijan territory, will collect and verify information on the parties' compliance with the ceasefire and other actions stated in agreements.
