At a regular press briefing, spokesman Baik Tae-hyun said the meeting will focus on measures to implement agreements reached by South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at recent talks in Panmunjom village.
The two leaders issued a joint statement under which they agreed to cease hostile acts, set up a joint permanent liaison office in the North’s border city of Kaesong, and further economic cooperation. They also agreed to hold reunions of war-divided families on the occasion of National Liberation Day on August 15.
