UAE reopens embassy in Syria
(VOVWORLD) - The United Arab Emirates reopened its embassy in Syria’s capital on Thursday for the first time in seven years.
This makes the UAE the first country in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) to resume diplomatic activities in Syria.
The UAE Foreign Ministry said that the step reflects the UAE’s keeness to restore relations between the two countries and forestall intervention in Arab affairs.
