May’s spokesperson told reporters on Monday that Britain and the EU are making progress, adding that the UK is putting in place plans which will allow it to succeed in all scenarios.

The EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said Britain and the EU can reach a deal on Britain's withdrawal from the bloc if they preserve the integrity of the EU's single market. He informed the ministers of all 27 member countries of the progress of negotiations. Negotiators have agreed on several tough issues but will need more time to find a way to avoid a hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland.
