(VOVworld) - The 2015 general election campaign has begun in the United Kingdom after the parliament was dissolved on Monday.
The ruling Conservative Party and opposition Labour Party, the two main political parties in the UK, have been neck and neck in opinion polls for months.
The race remains incredibly tight because and neither party is expected to win a majority of votes in the May 7 election.
British Prime Minister David Cameron warned of a “stark choice” facing voters between a safe and secure future under the Conservatives or economic chaos under Labour.
Cameron said Britain is gradually getting back on its feet again.
The same day, the Labour Party opened its election campaign with a speech by its leader Eward Miliband before business leader, in which he criticized David Cameron’s characterization of the UK’s EU membership as “environmental damage”.
