UK Prime Minister accuses EU of trying to influence general election

Ms. May denounced the European Commission President's head of cabinet Martin Selmayr for leaking to a German newspaper a highly partial account of her meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker last week. Selmayr acknowledged there had been “havoc” surrounding the dialogue but insisted that it was a “constructive dialogue”. He said Brexit will never be a success, that it is a sad and sorry event, but it can be managed in a professional and pragmatic way.
