UK wants to boost post-Brexit trade cooperation with Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - The UK wants to boost trade cooperation with Vietnam during the post-Brexit period, Kate White, Director for Asia-Pacific of the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, said on Tuesday at a ceremony held by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK to mark Vietnam’s 72nd National Day (September 2).

White said she believes that hosting the 2017 APEC Leaders’ Week in November will be an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its economic potential to the world.
She reviewed the strategic partnership between the UK and Vietnam over the past 7 years saying that the bilateral trade and investment ties will expand when the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement takes effect.
White reaffirmed the British government’s commitment to signing a bilateral trade deal with Vietnam after it leaves the European Union.
This was reflected in Prime Minister Theresa May’s appointment of Ed Vaizey as a Trade Envoy to Vietnam.
