UK will not bow to EU trade rules
(VOVWORLD) - The UK will develop its own system for regulating state aid and controlling subsidies after its Brexit transition period is over, said David Frost, Britain’s negotiator the long-term relationship with the EU, on Monday.

Mr. Frost said that the UK is not prepared to compromise with the EU on the fundamental parts of its negotiating position, and is not frightened by suggestions there will be trade frictions and barriers as a result of the deal ultimately agreed.
He added that it is possible to be both an economic competitor and a political partner with the EU. He said the UK is not asking for anything special, just a normal trade agreement like the EU has with other countries around the world.
Frost said the British government will publish a detailed blueprint next week for its future relationship with the EU.
