Mentioning an extension to the ceasefire which expired on Friday, he said he was not ready to make any decision and that everything depends on the results of the negotiations among Russia, Ukraine, and the EU special envoy. The move came just one day before Poroshenko signs the last chapters of an agreement with the EU which helps to bring Ukraine closer to EU membership and gradually removes its dependence on its neighbor Russia.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin said President Putin had told German Chancellor Merkel that he fully supported the resumption of meaningful talks among involved parties in Ukraine.
