UN applauds Vietnam's climate change response

(VOVWORLD) -Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, met with Selwin Hart, Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General and Assistant UN Secretary-General of the Climate Action Team on Wednesday.

Ambassador Giang thanked Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UN for actively supporting Vietnam in establishing a Just Energy Transition Partnership and implementing its COP26 commitments.
Giang expressed his hope that the UN will continue to help Vietnam develop a Resource Mobilization Plan to implement the partnership. He said Vietnam is ready to participate in preparing for the 2023 Climate Action Summit proposed by the Secretary-General.
Hart said the UN will continue to work with Vietnam and other partners to implement the partnership. He said Vietnam is making a strong effort to respond to climate change, and expressed his hope that Vietnam will continue to share its energy transition experience.
