Humanitarian exemptions to sanctions measures should be authorized for essential medical equipment and supplies to avoid the collapse of any national healthcare system, said Michelle Bachelet.
Humanitarian exemptions to sanctions should be given broad and practical effect, with prompt, flexible authorization for essential medical equipment and supplies, she said. Sanctions are also affecting anti-pandemic efforts in Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
