UN calls for global COVID-19 vaccination plan
(VOVWORLD) - UN Secretary General Antonio Gutteres on Wednesday called for a global COVID-19 vaccination plan to bring together the required political power, scientific expertise, and production and financial capacities.

He asked the G20 to set up a task force on financing and delivering vaccinations and offered the full support of the UN.
The European Commission (EC) says it has approved a contract with US drug manufacturer Moderna for 150 million COVID-19 vaccine doses this year. The EC can choose to buy 150 million more in 2022.
According to worldometers.info, the world has recorded more than 110.4 million COVID-19 cases and 2.4 million deaths. The US confirmed 67,000 new cases in the last 24 hours, remaining the pandemic’s epicenter with a total of 28.5 million infections and more than 502,000 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.
