The UN relief chief reiterated that restoring medical assistance and providing safe water topped the list of priorities in the capital, Khartoum, while Darfur must also be provided with many necessities.
According to the World Health Organization, the United Nations has 80 tons of emergency medical supplies presently awaiting customs clearance in the port of Sudan.
Officials have been processing the clearance procedures to ensure the prompt import of these shipments.
The World Food Program also has at least 8,000 tons of food ready to go to Sudan.
