Addressing a press conference on Thursday at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Guterres said the climate agenda is being undermined and insisted on the need to wake up and step up action to rebuild trust based on climate justice and accelerate the just transition to a green economy and environmental friendliness.
The UN chief proposed a Climate Solidarity Pact and an Acceleration Agenda to further step up efforts to combat climate change. The programs include the call to governments, the fossil fuel industry, and other stakeholders to take their commitments seriously.
