He will also visit Ukraine’s port city of Odessa. On Saturday, Mr. Guterres will make a stop in Istanbul, Turkey, to visit the Joint Coordinating Centre, the mechanism that supports implementation of the UN-brokered Black Sea Initiative on grain exports.
On Wednesday, five ships arrived at Ukraine’s Chornomorsk Black Sea port to load 70,000 tons of grain, the largest convoy so far under a UN-brokered grain export deal.
The Ukrainian sea port authority said in a statement that the new cargoes will include wheat, corn, and sunflower oil.
