UNASUR said the opposition did not attend the negotiating round involving UNASUR representatives, Spain’s former Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, former President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernandez, and former President of the Republic of Panama Martin Torijos. UNASUR reiterated the mediators’ desire to facilitate the negotiations for Venezuelans’ sake and said negotiations are the only way to ensure peace and are supported by international community.
