(VOVWORLD) - The UN Development Program (UNDP) and Quang Nam province’s Department of Construction handed over storm and flood resilient houses to poor households on Thursday to welcome the Lunar New Year.

1,500 of 3,320 houses have safely been repaired.
The repair and construction of new storm and flood resilient houses is part of a project in response to natural disasters in Vietnam sponsored by the UNDP's Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for coastal provinces including Quang Nam.
The project has also provided more than 3,300 household utensils, focusing on the needs of women in Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Ngai.
