(VOVworld) - Vietnam is a role model in implementing UNESCO programs and activities, said UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova at a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung on Friday as part of the 201st session of the UNESCO Executive Council in Paris.

UNESCO praises Vietnam's contributions

Ms Bokova said UNESCO acknowledged Vietnam's practical contributions to the mission of the organization. She praised Vietnam's efforts to preserve its national cultural identity saying that UNESCO would continue to support Vietnam. Deputy Foreign Minister Trung said Vietnam wanted to continue to cooperate with UNESCO in education, science, culture, and information.
