(VOVworld) - Military Engineering Commander Pham Quang Xuan has told VOV that Vietnam has completed mapping of unexploded bombs and land mines in 49 cities and provinces.

He said his command is focusing on clearance efforts in 6 central provinces with heaviest density of unexploded ordnances. Xuan elaborated: “Our mapping of unexploded ordnances in 49 cities and provinces will help us detect key areas for clearance when local community need more land for production. We have finalized a national tool kit on bombs and mine detection and deactivation and actively cooperated with other countries, especially the US, in capacity building.”
