In a clip posted on the US Embassy’s Facebook page on Tuesday, he also sent his thanks to the Vietnamese people working on the front line of the battle, stressing that their work is saving lives.

He said: “I simply want to say thank you to all the people in Vietnam working in the frontline of this fight. Your work is saving life. I also want to commend the government of Vietnam which has been doing an outstanding job in its response to Covid-19 and continues to be proactive, cooperative, and transparent. The United States is here to support Vietnam in this fight”

He said Embassy staff are working from home as much as possible in accordance with instructions from both the Vietnamese Government and the US Center for Disease Control.

The Ambassador said the US and Vietnam will continue to cooperate in the fight against the Covid-19 and even after it is resolved.
