He told reporters at a State Department press briefing that the US will impose visa restrictions on certain employees of Chinese technology companies like Huawei that provide material support to regimes engaging in human rights violations and abuses globally.

The US Federal Communications Commission has determined that Huawei and ZTE pose a national security threat and has therefore banned government purchases from those companies.
