(VOVWORLD) -The United States and the United Kingdom have carried out a new round of strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen as the armed group continues to target commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
US officials didn't specify the number of targets hit. The joint forces previously targeted Houthi missile launchers and radars.
European Union members have given backing to a naval mission to protect ships in the Red Sea from attacks by the Houthi militia. This new EU mission is separate from the US-led Red Sea coalition.
The EU will send three warships to patrol the Red Sea. Their mission will be to intercept drones, missiles, and other threats to commercial ships in the area.
