US calls for UN Security Council vote on Gaza ceasefire deal
(VOVWORLD) -The US said Sunday that it has requested a UN Security Council vote on its draft resolution backing a plan for an “immediate ceasefire with the release of hostages” between Israel and Hamas.

Nate Evans, a spokesman for the US delegation to the UN, made the announcement without specifying a vote date.
The same day, an American cargo plane dropped more than 10 metric tons of meals ready to eat in northern Gaza, after the airdrops were suspended due to Israel’s operations in the north.
To date, the US has airdropped more than 1,050 tons of humanitarian assistance in addition to the assistance delivered by the Joint Logistics Over the Sea corridor.
