In a speech at Stanford University, Powell said it is not necessary to be in a hurry to increase interest rates as US economy grows and inflation stays muted.
In January, FED ceased the 3-year tightening cycle in the context of increasing concerns about risks. Its policy rate stays between 2.25-2.5%. The US central bank will hold a policy meeting scheduled for March 19-20.
