Both sides comprehensively and frankly exchanged views on bilateral ties and shared issues.
The two sides agreed to take actions in the spirit of the call between their two Presidents last month, manage differences, avoid conflicts and confrontations, cooperate for mutual benefit, and to return the China-US relationship to healthy and stable development. They agreed to maintain regular dialogue and communication on important issues.
Mr. Yang said that the wise handling of bilateral relations will affect the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, and the future of the world. He praised President Biden's recent positive statements on China-US relations but affirmed China's stance on Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Tibet, human rights, and asked the US to respect its sovereignty, development security interests, and avoid interference in China's internal affairs.
