President Trump affirmed his consistency to the plan despite the global community’s concerns about a possible trade war. Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday that the US is on the losing side of almost all trade deals, and it’s time for a change.

Earlier, Secretary Ross claimed that the tariff won’t send prices soaring and downplayed the risk of retaliation, adding that trading partners who decided to cut US imports in other areas would both raise their own costs and create openings for US exporters. Mr. Ross said the final decision made by President Trump is expected to be announced this week.
