US Defense Secretary says no decision to leave Iraq
(VOVWORLD) - The US has no plans to pull its troops out of Iraq, Defense Secretary Mark Esper told Pentagon reporters on Monday, following reports of a US military letter about preparations for a withdrawal.

The letter, cited by news agencies and US media, was sent to Iraqi military by US Marine Brigadier General William Seely. A top US general told reporters that the letter was a poorly worded draft document meant to only underscore increased movement of forces, saying it was a mistake, unsigned, and should never have been released.
