US firms, HCM City work on smart city plan
(VOVworld) – US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Mary Tarnowka said US firms wish to collaborate with Ho Chi Minh City in developing a smart city.

At a meeting between business representatives, and local authorities on Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh city, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a smart city project to become a modern city and a regional finance, trade, and technology hub. Mr. Phong said Ho Chi Minh City wants to cooperate with US firms in building a smart city.
Ms. Tarnowka said the US businesses, which are experienced in building smart cities, want to provide modern technological solutions to help Ho Chi Minh City. She said cooperation between US businesses and Vietnamese who have lived and studied in the US will help Ho Chi Minh City become a smart, liveable city.
