US President Barack Obama’s administration said they would be cautious in receiving refugees and assuring safety for Americans. The US government said the refugees must undergo strict supervision and security checks before entering the US. The White House encouraged states to deal with any American citizens’ concerns about the resettlement of refugees.
The meeting was held after at least 34 state governors said they would not receive Syrian refugees after the bloody terrorist attack in Paris last week.
